Former prime minister Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, have raised fresh concerns about their father’s health. They say authorities have blocked family access and withheld medical updates for months.
_x000D_The brothers spoke to CNN in an interview published on Thursday. Their comments came as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) marked three years since Imran Khan entered prison on August 5, 2023.

_x000D_Kasim and Sulaiman spoke from London. They said they have received no reliable information about their father’s condition.
_x000D_According to the brothers, authorities have not allowed family members, lawyers, or personal doctors to meet Imran Khan for seven months.
_x000D_Kasim said the family has never faced such uncertainty during his father’s imprisonment.
_x000D_“We’ve been more in the dark than we’ve ever been through his incarceration,” he said.
_x000D_He also referred to an Islamabad High Court order. The court directed authorities to arrange phone calls between Imran Khan and his sons every two weeks.
_x000D_ _x000D_Brothers Face Travel Difficulties
_x000D_Kasim and Sulaiman said they want to travel to Pakistan. However, they claim administrative delays have stopped them from visiting.
_x000D_Kasim said the process becomes more difficult whenever they speak publicly about their father.
_x000D_“We’re trying to go, but nothing’s coming through,” he said.
_x000D_The government has stated that both brothers can enter Pakistan using their National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs).
_x000D_However, Kasim said their NICOPs have expired. He added that officials have not renewed the cards. He also said visa applications have not moved forward because of technical issues.
_x000D_CNN quoted Pakistan’s Information Ministry as saying the brothers already have NICOPs. The ministry said they do not need visas to enter Pakistan.
_x000D_Officials also described the brothers’ claims as misleading. However, the ministry did not respond directly to their claim about expired NICOPs.
_x000D_ _x000D_Family Questions Imran Khan’s Health
_x000D_Kasim said the family has not received any recent medical reports.
_x000D_“They’re refusing to show us any kind of health report,” he said.
_x000D_He added that the family worries Imran Khan’s health may have worsened.
_x000D_Earlier this year, doctors diagnosed Imran Khan with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), an eye condition.
_x000D_The government says he continues to receive medical treatment.
_x000D_PTI leaders and family members disagree. They want authorities to transfer him to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. They also want his personal doctors to examine him.

_x000D_CNN asked the brothers whether Imran Khan could reach an agreement with the government.
_x000D_Sulaiman said he does not believe that will happen.
_x000D_He said his father would not accept a deal that secured only his own release while leaving other political prisoners behind bars.
_x000D_Kasim shared a similar opinion. However, he said the family lacks enough information to know his father’s current position.

_x000D_Kasim dismissed the legal cases against his father.
_x000D_He called the allegations “plain lies and deceit.”
_x000D_He also urged the international community to pay attention to Pakistan’s political situation.
_x000D_According to Kasim, millions of Pakistanis voted for Imran Khan, yet he remains behind bars without justification.

_x000D_Thursday marked three years since authorities jailed Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
_x000D_He remains in prison after receiving a 14-year sentence in the £190 million corruption case.
_x000D_He also received another conviction in a Toshakhana case in December 2025.
_x000D_In addition, he still faces several terrorism-related cases linked to the May 9, 2023, riots.
_x000D_PTI organized rallies in several major cities to mark the anniversary.
_x000D_Police took action against demonstrations in Karachi and Lahore. Authorities also arrested several party workers.
