Man found guilty of killing teen outside Wembley nightclub

A man has been found guilty of murder following the Wembley nightclub shooting that killed 18-year-old Tyrece Balcha in September 2025.

Balcha suffered gunshot wounds outside the Crystal Club on Atlantic Crescent at about 05:30 GMT on 21 September. Emergency services took him to hospital, but he died four days later.

A jury at the Old Bailey found Ashley Wallace, 40, guilty of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Wallace lives on Shenley Road in Southwark.

Wembley nightclub shooting followed club altercation

CCTV footage showed Balcha involved in an altercation inside the nightclub before the incident moved outside.

The footage showed Balcha being followed from the club before he was shot. Wallace then left the scene in a vehicle.

Police traced the vehicle to south-east London and arrested Wallace on 25 September.

Investigators later found a revolver inside the vehicle. Wallace’s DNA appeared on the weapon, while forensic tests linked the gun to the bullet recovered from the scene.

Other defendants cleared

The same trial involved several other defendants.

Two men were found not guilty of murder. A woman was cleared of charges involving firearm possession and perverting the course of justice.

The jury could not reach a verdict in relation to a fourth man.

Family pays tribute after murder verdict

Balcha’s mother, Bonnie, said the verdict marked an important step but could not ease the family’s loss.

She described her son as a loving family member and friend with a big heart, an infectious smile and a personality that attracted people to him.

The family said they hoped Balcha could now rest in peace knowing that justice had been served.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke praised the family’s dignity and patience throughout the investigation and trial.

He said police hoped the verdict would provide the family with some measure of justice.

Wallace remains subject to sentencing after his murder conviction. A date for the sentencing hearing has not yet been confirmed.
